From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. There may be trouble brewing around Suicide Squad's release; whether in damning critics reviews, or raging fans attempting to shut down said critics.

Yet, still the publicity machine must rumble on; bringing another musical release tied to the film's soundtrack following a drop from Skrillex and Rick Ross, alongside another by Lil' Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, and Imagine Dragons.

Grimes' 'Medieval Warfare' first debuted on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show; providing a slightly darker, dirtier take on the artist's usual noise pop thanks to a chorus of metallic guitars and heavy drums.

Speaking to Lowe afterward, Grimes revealed she'd watched the trailer for the film "at least 20 or 30 times", and was "openly weeping" at the prospect of contributing to its soundtrack.

However, don't expect this to become the norm for Grimes, as she warned she'd been extremely hesitant about moving into film work in the past; particularly when, "everyone I know who's ever done it brutally hated it and highly recommends against it. So now I feel a bit more fearful of it. Literally everyone I know who's done it has extreme vitriol and says things like, 'I wasted three years of my life.'"

Indeed, she admitted even music video production was an extremely high-pressure environment, where "you're doing something where every second of it is costing thousands of dollars and involves hundreds to thousands of people, [so] there's no room for improv or chill vibes, really."
