Stone Roses registered new touring company days before iconic lemon logo appeared on posters around Manchester

A big announcement from the band is expected in the next 24 hours

UPDATE: The Stone Roses have reportedly registered a new touring company called Man Touring Limited. Ian Brown, John Squire, Gary Mounfield and Alan Wren are the only names linked to the documents which were available on the government's Companies House website.

ORIGINAL: Speculation surrounding a new Stone Roses album and tour has hit new heights after posters featuring their iconic ‘lemon logo’ have appeared all over Manchester.

While no-one knows what the announcement will be, people have been throwing around numerous ideas including a Glastonbury headline slot and big Manchester gig.

Snaps of the posters have appeared all over Twitter, with one fan posting a photo of himself and Ian Brown with the caption: “Told me a new album and a big gig will happen in 2016”.

Sightings of the posters have been confirmed at Close barber's shop on Greater Ancoats Street and the Vinyl Revival record store on Hilton Street according to NME.

According to the report, a shopkeeper had been sworn to secrecy over the announcement, which should take place in the next 24 hours.

The Manchester-based band formed in 1983 and have only released two albums: their phenomenal self-titled debut and the follow-up Second Coming.

Since splitting in 1996, they have played together on numerous occasions, playing a series of gigs around the world throughout 2012 and 2013. In the last two years they have remained dormant.

However, Noel Gallagher hinted on the 24 October the band had something big planned. He was asked on Soccer AM if he knew what the Roses were doing, to which he replied: "Yes. I know exactly what's going on... They're blooming.”

The Stone Roses have confirmed they will be playing at T in the Park and Manchester Etihad Stadium.
