Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Snoop Dogg has said that he “would love” to share his marijuana expertise with his three children.

The rapper and reggae artist, who is recently converted to Rastafarianism and took on the moniker “Snoop Lion” told the US edition of GQ magazine that if they asked, he would happily share his experience with his three children who range in age from 12 to 18.

"It's not that I would ever push weed on our kids,” he said. “But if they wanted to, I would love to show them how, the right way, so that way they won't get nothing put in their s**t or overdose or trying some s**t that ain't clean."

Snoop expressed surprise that he had made it to the age of 41, saying that he had expected to die at 21 and had mellowed as he got older. "You always think 21 is your number in the hood, you know? Twenty-one. I've doubled up,” he said. “As you become a man, you start having kids and living. You put the guns away, and your music becomes Hey, I'm with my kid and I'm living now... as opposed to F**k that—I'll shoot you on sight."

He also claimed to the magazine that he had been given a date rape drug by a Playboy bunny during a party at the Playboy mansion in Los Angeles. And that his unique style of writing tweets on Twitter was entirely his own doing.

“When I looked into it and understood what it was and I said, 'Okay, let me make it mine.' Before, it was just my team: 'For shizzle. I'm doing tha sizz' and all this s**t,” he said. “My folks was like, 'Man, that s**t ain't real. He wouldn't say it like that.' So it had to be more handcrafted by me.”
