From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

“You know, I never did it because I always thought, like, I would end up fucking a female rapper and fucking the business up,” he said.
"I'm so focused on my business. I just, I gotta be honest with you," he continued.
"You know, she looking good. I'm spending so much money on her photo shoots. I gotta fuck a couple times."
The interview was filmed, with the comments coming around 8:45 in the video.
Asked if he would consider signing a "young 17-year-old female" artist, Ross said: “I mean most definitely, if she was a youngster that was bringing something to the table," drawing attention to his work with Brianna Perry.
Ross made headlines in 2013 for a verse he gave on a remix of Rocko's 'U.O.E.N.O.' that was accused of condoning rape.
Ross rapped: "Put Molly all in the champagne/ She ain't even know it/I took her home and I enjoyed that/ She ain't even know it."
