The Black Keys, Ride and The Strokes have been announced as headliners for next summer’s Primavera Sound in Barcelona.

The popular music festival is returning for a 15th year at the end of May, with Interpol, alt-J, Damien Rice and James Blake also featuring on the eclectic line-up.

‘Godmother of Punk’ Patti Smith will perform the entirety of her landmark album Horses, as well as giving a second acoustic performance and another of “spoken word”.

Scottish band Belle & Sebastian are also confirmed to appear alongside The Replacements, Underworld, Run the Jewels, Jungle, Ariel Pink, Jon Hopkins and The New Pornographers.

Primavera Sound revealed the acts taking to its stage as a video game on mobile app. The festival runs from 27 to 30 May at the Spanish city’s Parc del Forum.

Tickets are priced at 175 euros until 3 February, after which they will rise in cost to 185 euros and increase again to 195 euros from 5 May until they sell out.

Last year’s Primavera was headlined by Arcade Fire, Queens of the Stone Age and The Pixies.
