Pop Smoke reveals when he started rapping

Tributes have been paid to 20-year-old rapper Pop Smoke, who is believed to have been “shot and killed” in a suspected armed burglary.

According to Los Angeles police, a number of masked men broke into a property in the Hollywood Hills.

Pop Smoke, whose real name is Bashar Barakah Jackson, was at a house in the Hollywood Hills at approximately 4:30am when two men broke in, according to TMZ.

DJs and producers have been remembering Pop Smoke on Twitter and Instagram.

British rapper and singer Lady Leshurr said: “Wow RIP Pop Smoke!! He was just getting started!! Envious people!! Sometimes success can really be your downfall which is so not fair!!”

She added: “Something really strange is happening in the air..everyone keeps dying unexpectedly it’s so sad”.

Nicki Minaj wrote: “The Bible tells us that jealousy is as cruel as the grave. Unbelievable. Rest In Peace, Pop.”

50 Cent tweeted: “R.I.P to my man Pop Smoke, No sympathy for winners. God bless him”.

Migos rapper Quavo wrote: “Got To Kno This Kid! Very Talented Humble Respectful And Appreciative Always Ask Questions Big Sponge To Knowledge Fast Learning Young Boss And The Huncho Was Here To Share That Anytime You Called Me! R.I.P”.

English Grime MC Dubzy wrote: “Rest in Peace Pop Smoke. Man hate winners too much.”

American rapper Bas said: “Damn this so shit fuckin wack. You made the whole city proud. RIP Pop Smoke”.

American rapper T-Wayne added: “Streets full of haters the streets don’t love you when you make it R.I.P Pop Smoke”.
