Peter Hook has announced two special UK shows, where he will perform Joy Division‘s Unknown Pleasures and Closer in full.
The musician, who played bass for Joy Division, has set up the shows in order to celebrate both albums’s 40th anniversaries, with Unknown Pleasures crossing that milestone in June and Closer turning 40 in July 2020.
Hook will play as part of his band, Peter Hook & the Light, with the shows featuring an opening set of songs from New Order, which formed after the demise of Joy Division and the death of its lead singer, Ian Curtis.
Titled An Evening with Peter Hook & The Light – Joy Division: A Celebration, the shows will take place at the O2 Academy Brixton in London on 15 May, 2020 and the O2 Apollo in Manchester on 16 May, 2020.
Both shows will help raise money for the charities CALM and the Epilepsy Society, in memory of Curtis.
Tickets for the shows will go on sale on Friday, 26 April at 10am.
