Pete Davidson has confirmed he is engaged to Ariana Grande, joking: "I feel like I won a contest."

The comedian, actor and SNL host began dating Grande in May, with speculation earlier this month that they were planning a wedding.

Appearing on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Davidson confirmed the reports, with Fallon joking that he "didn't have to get engaged to Ariana Grande to come on our show".

"But I did though," Davidson responded. "I feel like I won a contest. So sick."

Asked how he was handling it, Davidson said it was "lit" and said one man had told him he had given him "hope" - "I didn't know I was that ugly," Davidson joked.

Last week, Davidson shared a photo on Instagram which appeared to show Grande wearing an engagement ring, with the caption: "You know what you'd dream it'd be like? It's better than that."

Grande and Davidson had been dating for just over a month, but have known each other since at least 2016, when Grande appeared as a guest host on SNL.
