Justin Bieber receives thank you letter from NHS executive full of hidden song references
Our beady eyes spot eight references to Biebs' bangers. How many can you find?
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Justin Bieber threw his support behind the NHS Choir to help them beat him to Christmas number one and in return, the chief executive of the hospital involved has written the pop star an epic fan letter.
Tim Higginson from the Lewisham and Greenwich board praised the “Love Yourself” singer for encouraging his fans to “do the right thing” and download “A Bridge Over You” for charity.
But Bieber fans will notice something extra special about this thank you letter - the impressive number of references to the 21-year-old’s hits.
See how many you can spot...
Dear Justin,
I never thought I would find myself writing fan mail to a pop star but you should never say never, and there is a first time for everybody.
The last few months have been a rollercoaster for us and your public support for the choir at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust meant so much to many people, not just here but all over the world. We are extremely proud of our choir, our staff and the NHS in general and your support helped raise the profile of many healthcare heroes whose work often goes for granted. You also helped us raise more money for extremely worthwhile causes as all profits from the single go to charity. If this is the one thing we ever get for Christmas, we will be extremely grateful.
I would like to wish you all the very best for your forthcoming tour in Europe. I’m sure our choir would be delighted to act as backing singers! We would love to welcome you right here should you ever want us to show you first-hand the amazing work which our staff do on a daily basis. No pressure, of course, we realise how busy you are.
I’m sure the titles of your songs have jumped off the page for you. It’s just a way of showing that I, and many others, are now firm Beliebers due to your support for the NHS and for our choir’s charity single. Thank you once again!
Yours sincerely,
Tim Higginson
Chief Executive

Granted there are a few errors (it's “Only Thing I Ever Get For Christmas” and “All Around the World”, Tim) but this gets a big round of applause.
The NHS Choir clinched the Christmas top spot nearly 31,000 copies ahead of Bieber, with a total of combined chart sales of over 127,000 copies against his 97,000.
Bieber is an avid supporter of free healthcare, telling Rolling Stone in 2011 that he does not plan on becoming a US citizen because there are no medical bills in Canada.
