According to The Sun, the 43-year-old singer and radio presenter called police to say she had been assaulted on the morning of Friday 9 April.
The incident is said to have been about a dispute over where was best to stop outside the Global Radio headquarters in central London.
The driver allegedly spat on Klass during the disagreement and she exited the vehicle “in tears” before he drove away.
Photographers outside the building reportedly asked her if she was OK as she seemed “flustered”.
Klass – who rose to fame as a member of the pop group Hear’Say before establishing a career as a successful solo artist and TV personality – presented her two-hour radio show as normal.
The Met Police said: “Police are investigating an allegation of assault.
“The complainant, a 43-year-old woman, was allegedly spat at as she left a private hire vehicle.
“There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.”
The Independent has contacted Klass’s representative for comment.
