‘Mr Brightside’ and ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ theme tune mash-up goes viral on TikTok
Impressively cohesive mash-up was created by Austin Archer
A mash-up of the song “Mr Brightside” by The Killers and the theme tune to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air has gone viral.
Created by Austin Archer, the song mixes the lyrics of Will Smith‘s well-known sitcom theme with the vocal style and music from The Killers’ 2004 anthem.
The video was shared widely on the video sharing app TikTok.
You can hear the surprisingly coherent result below.
Back in March, The Killers’ frontman Brandon Flowers posted a video of himself singing a truncated version of the popular dancefloor track a cappella.
The video was designed to instruct people on the correct amount of time to spend washing your hands.
TikTok has come under fire recently, with critics, including US secretary of state Mike Pompeo, suggesting that people should only use the app if they are happy with their data being given to the Chinese state.
The company has denied any suggestion that the app provides user data to the Chinese Communist Party, with TikTok’s policy head Theo Bertram branding the claims “completely false”.
“TikTok is not available in China. TikTok data is stored in the US,” he told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.
