Mel B appeared to take a swipe at her former Spice Girls bandmate Victoria Beckham, by dressing up as Posh Spice for Halloween.
The singer, who was known as Scary Spice during her time in the group, and whose real name is Melanie Brown, wore a Posh Spice mask, red heels, and the little black dress that has become synonymous with Victoria Beckham.
Mel B also carried an “axe” which bore the words: “No I am not going on tour,” in an apparent reference to early reports that the original members of Spice Girls, with the exception of Posh Spice, would reunite for live shows this year.
She was accompanied by her friend – hairdresser Gary Madatyan – who dressed up as Victoria’s husband David Beckham in an LA Galaxy football shirt, blonde hair and sunglasses. Madatyan had a sign which read: “Please please please do it for the Spice fans.”
The pair were attending the annual Halloween party thrown by model Heidi Klum in New York. Klum herself attracted praise for her extravagant transformation into Fiona from the film Shrek.
Black Panther star Lupita Nyong’o attended as the character Dionne Davenport – complete with a Nineties-era brick mobile phone – from the 1990s classic film Clueless.
