From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Megan Thee Stallion has said that collaborating with Rihanna would “blow her mind”.

The “Hot Girl Summer” rapper, who recently collaborated with Beyoncé on the remix of her TikTok hit, “Savage”, told Dazed that Rihanna was one of the few artists still on her hit list.

I don’t need anyone else to collab with,” she said. “I already collab-ed with Nicki and I’ve collab-ed with Beyoncé, my life is made – bye, thank you. Thank you, everybody!

She continued: “[But] Rihanna is that girl, and I always wear Fenty, so… Oh my god, that would blow my mind! If I could collab with Rihanna, I would honestly be super happy.”

Megan’s collaboration with Beyoncé came about after the 25-year-old signed to Roc Nation, the entertainment agency founded by Jay-Z.

Speaking about the collaboration, she explained: “I was like, ‘God? Is this real?’ Like, we really did it! Somebody from my team called me like, ‘Hey, Beyoncé wants to do a “Savage” remix,’ and I’m like, ‘Shut up – y’all are lyin’!’ They’re like, “Seriously, go record a new verse.”

“I didn’t hear the song again until the week after that. When I heard it, I was like, “This is really Beyoncé! Like… this is really Beyoncé. Do y’all know that this is really Beyoncé?!”
