Megan Thee Stallion speechless as Lizzo presents Best New Artist Award to her

Megan Thee Stallion has announced that she is going on hiatus to “recharge” after her busiest year yet.

The 26-year-old rapper has had a busy 12 months, following the release of her album Good News and the success of hit track “WAP” with Cardi B.

On Thursday (22 April), a post was shared to her Instagram, showing the rapper with tubes in her ears wearing a silver face mask while her eyes were closed.

In a second post, Megan was depicted in a tank of water, wearing a bodysuit patterned with the backdrop from her album cover.

Fans speculated that the singer was either releasing a new album, new single or deluxe version of Good News, but a third post announced: “Megan Thee Stallion is recharging!

“Due to the demands of the Hot Girl lifestyle, Meg has now entered a period of regeneration to prepare for what’s next.”

It continued: “In her absence, [management] will manage all social posting on behalf of Thee Hot Girl Coach. Thee Hotties lead a brave resistance in anticipation for the return of their Fearless Captain!”

Megan’s fans celebrated her decision to take a break, with one comment reading: “Well that’s one way of saying that you’re going on vacation or need a break. Good on you!”

“Hot Girls need their rest too!” another commenter wrote.

At last month’s Grammys, Megan took home three awards, including Best New Artist.
