Matt Willis has alleged that members of the Church of Scientology attempted to “split up” his marriage to television presenter Emma Willis.

The musician, who found fame in the pop band Busted, briefly joined the Church after entering rehab for drug and alcohol addiction in 2008.

Willis has claimed that during his interactions with members of the Church, some had told him that his wife was a “negative force” in his life.

“They were like, ‘There’s someone in your life who’s actually draining you, who’s a negative force, and it’s normally the person closest to you’,” Willis told The Sun. “And it’s like, ‘I think they’re trying to split my f***ing marriage up now’. They were trying to force this weird opinion on me.”

He continued: “When I look back at it, I was like, ‘Are you trying to separate me from everybody else?’”

Willis added that, upon deciding to step away from the Church, members had allegedly encouraged him to keep attending classes for months after.

“They rang me every day for a month and they drop into my texts every six months, eight months, out the blue, like, ‘Hey, Matt, how are you doing?’” Willis claimed.
