Liam Payne clears up rumours about a One Direction reunion

Louis Tomlinson has condemned a newspaper article that speculated about the reasons behind One Direction’s split, calling them “bulls***’.

The solo star had previously taken to Twitter to celebrate the ninth anniversary of his former band’s formation, a celebration that had already spawned the hashtag #9YearsofOneDirection. But Tomlinson also reacted with anger to a newspaper story stating that the group were “torn apart” by “drugs, meltdowns and ‘gay sex’ rumours”, along with “rivalry and hatred”.

“Biggest load of bulls*** I’ve seen in a while,” Tomlinson wrote. “Typical unprovoked venom… Couldn’t be further from the truth!”

Elsewhere, both former One Direction members Liam Payne and Niall Horan joined in the anniversary celebrations, Payne tweeting “Amazing to look back at all the memories”, and Horan adding: “Can’t thank you all enough for all the support over the years”.

Harry Styles and Zayn Malik have yet to comment on the anniversary.
