Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The Independent can finally reveal who will be performing on our stage at this year's Live at Leeds festival.
Headlining 2018 are one of our favourite bands, Circa Waves, who will join up and comers including Louis Berry, Superorganism, Sam Fender, The Night Cafe and The Indigo Project.
Taking place on Saturday 5 May in the city centre, Live at Leeds is one of the best festivals for discovering your new favourite artists.
Elsewhere on the lineup you've got The Vaccines, The Xcerts, Rae Morris, IDLES, Nadine Shah, The Horrors, Billy Lockett, Sea Girls, Blaenavon and Pulled Apart by Horses.
The Xcerts, who recently released their acclaimed album Hold On To Your Heart, said: "We are very psyched to be playing Live at Leeds this year. This will be our first time at the festival, and the lineup looks killer so we're delighted to be joining the party. We love playing in Leeds so we're going to have a hell of a time."
