A short film about The Libertines has dropped online after debuting before the band’s Hyde Park reunion gig last summer.
Created by photographer Roger Sargent, the 15-minute clip was edited as a ‘visual history’ of the early Noughties group after popular demand from fans on Twitter and Facebook.
The video is made up of old footage and photos from Sargent’s extensive archive, including never before heard interview footage from his 2010 Libertines documentary, There Are No Innocent Bystanders.
There is unseen footage from the band’s Freedom gig in Chatham at the Tap‘n’Tin in 2003, as well as scenes from their original music videos.
“I made this short film to be shown before the Hyde Park show and wanted it to convey how important the band are, how much we missed them and how good it was to have them back,” said Sargent.
Co-frontman Carl Barat revealed earlier this month that he has penned five new songs with Pete Doherty for The Libertines’ hotly-awaited third album.
