A clip shared on social media Tuesday shows Liam performing the tune in Carcassonne, France, on Sunday.
The song’s lyrics usually go: “Backstabbed all your friends
“And yes it’s all about who you know.”
But on this occasion, Liam can be heard singing: ”Backstabbed all your friends
“And yes it’s all about you and Bono.”
Liam and Noel have feuded for years, making it likely that Liam was referring to his brother in his modified lyrics.
A dispute between the two siblings famously led to the split of Oasis in 2009, minutes before a show at the Rock en Seine festival near Paris.
Noel toured with U2 in 2017 and has nurtured a friendship with the band’s frontman, which might be why Liam singled out Bono while singing “Shockwave”.
Liam is scheduled to tour next in Hull in the UK on 3 August, while Noel’s next gig will take place in Camden, New Jersey, on 8 August.
