Khruangbin share their video for 'Evan Finds the Third Room' - premiere
Something to jam out to this weekend
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Texas trio Khruangbin have unveiled their delightful video for "Evan Finds the Third Room" from their recently-released album Con Todo El Mundo.
Video director Josh King said: "We found the happiest lady in China. We told her that you don't need a real hula hoop to have fun. She agreed."
That's about all you need to know, to be honest. Check it out (above) and read our Q&A with the band:
Q&A with Khruangbin
What are you listening to at the moment?
We played Istanbul recently and picked up a few Turkish records: Osman Ismen, Ersen, and Erkin Koray to name a few.. Those are keeping us pretty satisfied at the moment.
How did this video come about?
I’ve known Josh King, who directed it with his best mate Felix, for a few years. He was instantly one of the best people I ever met in London. We’d always have pub lunches, drink white wine and drum up funny ideas for videos. After we recorded this song, I knew instantly that I wanted Josh to do the video. I let him have free reign with it, and I absolutely love it.
What’s your plans for 2018?
Touring. A lot of touring. And in an ideal world, use the inspiration from the people and world around us on the road as means for new projects.
Con Todo El Mondo, the new-ish album from Khruangbin, is out now. They play All Points East festival on 25-27 May and The Downs in Bristol on 1 September.
