From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Singer Kate Bush has added seven extra dates to the stint of London shows she announced last week.

Her management confirmed that the Babooshka singer will now play 22 Before the Dawn shows at London's Hammersmith Apollo, from 26 August until 1 October.

The decision is in reaction to what her team called "enormous pre-sale demand" following her announcement last week that she would be returning to the stage for the first time in 35 years.

"A specific allocation of tickets sold-out in 30 minutes,” her team said on Wednesday.

Bush said: "I am completely overwhelmed and genuinely shocked by the incredibly positive response from everyone. Thank you!"

The Wuthering Heights singer was 20 when she completed The Tour Of Life with three dates at what was then called the Hammersmith Odeon, after becoming the first woman to go to number one singing one of her own songs.

Last year she was awarded a CBE for her services to music.

Tickets for all 22 shows officially go on sale at 9:30am on 28 March.
