From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Rick Rubin has confirmed that he is working with Kanye West on the follow-up album to Yeezus.

The super producer has worked with the rapper on numerous occasions, and was brought in just 15 days before the last record was due to be released in the hope of stripping down its sound.

Rubin said he was "looking a vocal ideas" for West's next album in an interview with Zane Lowe set to air on BBC Radio 1 tonight (16 June).

Kanye certainly has enough ideas kicking around for another release, having cut down Yeezus from 16 tracks to 10 on Rubin's recommendation.

The producer explained Newsweek how he told West: "Maybe you should make it more concise. Maybe it is two albums. Maybe this is just the first half."

There is no word yet on whether West will work with Bon Iver's Justin Vernon once more, who has contributed vocals to his last two albums, though he did express a desire to collaborate with James Blake recently, who was sampled by his peer Drake in a new track "0 to 100/The Catch Up" earlier this month.
