From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

People have been waiting very, very patiently for Kanye West’s upcoming album, currently titled SWISH.

To tide fans over until it eventually drops, Yeezy has uploaded two tracks to his previously unused SoundCloud account, with no prior warning.

The first, “Say You Will” is a remix of the same track from 808s and Heartbreaks, this time featuring Caroline Shaw. With added violins and beefed up vocals, it sounds like a cut off My Beautiful Twisted Fantasy rather than 808s.

The second, “When I See”, samples The Weeknd’s “Tell Your Friends”, and sounds more like a ditched guest verse rather than whole track - it clocks in at just 1 minute 43 seconds. West originally produced the track, listen below.

West’s last two shows in LA saw the rapper-turned-fashionista perform the entire 808s album in full: could he be hinting that SWISH will recall his autotune days rather than aggressive beat style from Yeezus?

Or perhaps Yeezy is just looking for a quick way to upload some songs that may otherwise never see the light of day.

Fellow GOOD music artist Travis Scott has hinted this is only the beginning on Instagram, posting a link to the Soundcloud page along with the caption “It starts.”

West hit headlines earlier this month for auditioning on American Idol and receiving advice from Barak Obama. He also expressed his dislike for the colour blue.
