Kanye West has shared the release date of a new project, which will be unveiled on 29 September.
The rapper and producer unveiled what appeared to be a transparent CD cover design along with a text message that read: “YANDHI 9 29 18.”
Nothing has been confirmed, but it looks as though this will be West’s ninth album and possibly a sequel to the 2013 LP Yeezus - the two records share similarly striking artwork. However, the title could also be Saturday Night Live and West having some fun together, as West was recently announced as a musical guest on the late-night variety show, also on 29 September.
Fans are now speculating that West will use the performance to debut some new music. During his last appearance on the late-night variety show he performed Yeezus tracks “Black Skinhead” and “New Slaves”.
Chance the Rapper also hinted that his West project may drop soon.
Over the weekend he posted a message on Instagram which read “Good Ass Job” in block letters against a bright pink background.
At an open mic event hosted by Chance in Chicago on 17 October, West confirmed this would be the title of their collaborative album. He also told the crowd that he has moved back to the city for good, according to The Fader.
West has been busy this year. Recent work includes production on records by Pusha T, Nas and Teyana Taylor, plus songs for Christina Aguilera and Migos. His latest single “I Love It” with Lil Pump has reached No.3 on the Official Singles Chart, marking West’s highest debut on the chart since his No.1 hit “Run This Town” with Jay Z and Rihanna, in 2009.
