From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Kanye West's new album could be do or die for the rapper, as he faces growing criticism from not only a large portion of his fans but also many of his peers and collaborators over his recent comments about politics and slavery.
Set to be released on 2 June and titled LOVE EVERYONE, the album is expected to consist of seven tracks and be self-produced.
At the end of an almost two-hour interview that largely focused on his recent controversies, Kanye told Charlamagne Tha God a little about the LP.
"I played you some of the music and you see where I'm going," he said. "I want to create music that's therapeutic, I feel 'Real Friends' is in the territory of what we're creating."
'Real Friends', an album track on The Life of Pablo, concerned a cousin who allegedly stole his laptop in order to extort him using sensitive material on it. Later in the album he would go on to forgive the cousin.
As the name suggests, LOVE EVERYONE is expected to be themed around the idea that no-one should be undeserving of our love, Kanye having previously wanted to use a photo of the surgeon he blames for his mother's death on the operating table as the album's cover artwork.
