The pop star surprised fans with an exciting but vague announcment on Twitter yesterday (11 September).
Bieber shared a post simply stating: “ONE WEEK." He then posted another tweet adding a link to a new website titled jbsoon.com, which allows fans to pre-save a forthcoming song on streaming platforms.
On Twitter, users are speculating whether the track available to pre-save is a one-off single or the first preview of a new album.
Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun shared his tweet, accompanied by the hashtag: “#newerabegins???”
Any new music will follow Bieber’s previous album Changes, which was released in February earlier this year.
Many of the 17 tracks featured on the album were love songs about his wife Hailey Baldwin.
The Independent gave Changes a two-star review, calling it “uninspired”.
Most recently, Bieber made a special appearance in the new music video for DJ Khaled’s “Popstar”.
In the video, the “Sorry” singer lip syncs along to Khaled and Drake’s verses for the entirety of the song.
