James Arthur dropped from Simon Cowell's record label Syco

James Arthur has officially been dropped from Simon Cowell’s record label Syco.
The singer confirmed the news on Twitter, writing: “Just to clear things up – I am no longer with Syco. I would like to that all at the label for making a great record with me.”
“I now have to move on and do something different – the future is bright #LOVE,” he continued.
A spokesman for the record label said: “Syco will not be making another record with James Arthur. We wish him well.”
The news follows speculation earlier this year that the X Factor winner had been dropped from Syco following a song he wrote that appeared to promote terrorism.
The singer denied the allegations at the time, saying he was “still with Syco but exclusively signed to Sony”.
The record label has stood by the X Factor winner despite his use of homophobic lyrics last year, and his plea to have a killer whale “attack a crowd of people” on the cover of his mixtape.
Speaking earlier this year about Arthur, Simon Cowell said: “I think James, unfortunately, has had so many issues with what he has done publicly – which is a real issue with me. Somebody should have told him to shut up and just put the records out.”
The singer is the latest X Factor winner to be dropped from Cowell’s label after Leona Lewis’ departure earlier this month.
Former X Factor winners Alexandra Burke, Matt Cardle, Steve Brookstein, Leon Jackson and Joe McElderry are also no longer with Syco.
