From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Hayley Williams has broken her seven-month social media hiatus with the news that she will release new solo music later this month.
The project, titled Petals for Armor, was announced on the Paramore frontwoman's 31st birthday and is expected for release on 22 January.
In a tweet on 28 December, Williams wrote: "I'm putting out some music next year. With the help of some of my closest friends, I made something I'm going to call my own."
This week, fans spotted Petals for Armor posters around US cities including New York and Williams' hometown of Nashville.
The project is likely to satisfy Paramore fans after she put an end to rumours that the band would reunite in 2020 or release new music.
The release date of 22 January 2020 was posted to the social media account @petalsforarmor on Monday 6 January.
