From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Halsey stopped a performance in Miami to confront an audience member who was repeatedly shouting the name of her ex-boyfriend, the US rapper G-Eazy.
The pop singer, who recently released her new album, Manic, was seen in fan-shot footage turning to seek out the person disrupting her concert.
“If you say G-Eazy one more f***ing time, I will kick you out this building,” she is seen telling the crowd. ”I will kick your f***ing ass, test me. I will kick your ass out the f***ing club. You’re not going to disrespect me like that at my own show.”
After she was unable to identify the heckler, Halsey led the audience in a chant of: “F*** that guy.”
Halsey and G-Eazy dated on-and-off between 2017 and 2018.
Halsey later shared a post on her Instagram story that appeared to reference the incident.
“Don’t ever let someone make you feel crazy or unhinged cause ur a woman standing up for yourself [sic],” she wrote. “Don’t tolerate disrespect in the name of being ‘nice’. Love u.”
