From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

After being announced as this year’s Coachella headliners, Guns N’ Roses have revealed they will be playing two warm-up shows.

The band - now performing with the majority of their classic line-up, including Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan - will play the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas on April 8 and 9, followed by their Coachella set the next week.

This line-up of the band hasn’t played on stage together since 1993, while a drummer has yet to be found for the group. Only last year did guitarist Slash and Axl Rose finally make amends, Slash having previously said a reunion of any kind would not happen.

Rumours of a comeback had been swirling since September 2015, beginning when Slash’s friend and a boss at the Universal Studios theme park John Murdy revealed that the musician had been “talking again” with Rose.

Coachella festival, AKA ‘Reunion Fest’, will also see LCD Soundsystem and Calvin Harris Headline. You can check out the full line-up here.

Earlier this week, Ice Cube spoke about his group N.W.A. possibly reforming at the festival, confirming that he hopes to get everyone back on stage, perhaps even Eazy-E in hologram form.
