From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Another day, another artist reveals they are playing Glastonbury festival. The latest person to announce they will be appearing at Worthy Farm later this year is Jess Glynne, who had to pull out of the 2015 festival due to vocal surgery.

The Grammy-winning artist was speaking on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour about her musical influences and sexism in the music industry when she announced the news.

Already confirmed for this year’s festival are headliners Coldplay and Muse, as well as two-time Mercury prize winner PJ Harvey and Jeff Lynne’s ELO.

The Saturday headline slot is yet to be filled but Adele is widely expected to perform on the night.

Previously, Emily Eavis confirmed that Foo Fighters will not be back, having pulled out of last year’s festival due to Dave Grohl breaking his leg.

Jess Glynne released her debut album, I Cry When I Laugh, in 2015 and has been nominated for two MOBOs, four Brits, three MTV awards and won a Grammy.
