From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Another artist set to perform at this year’s Glastonbury Festival has reportedly been revealed.

According to insiders, Janet Jackson will appear at Worthy Farm for the first time to headline a stage on the event’s Sunday evening.

“She has never performed at Glastonbury but she knows what a massive deal it is,” a source told The Sun. “It is looking like she will perform on Sunday but her exact slot is to be confirmed.”

The unnamed insider added: “Organisers are still booking acts and arranging the schedule but she is really excited to be back.”

Jackson’s last UK performances included a three-night run at the Royal Albert Hall in 2011.

If the Glastonbury slot manifests, her set will take place days after the 10th anniversary of the death of her brother, Michael Jackson, on 25 June. Her singing brothers, known collectively as The Jacksons, played the festival in 2017.

Stormzy is the sole headliner to have been announced so far. Other artists who’ll play include Janelle Monae and Kylie Minogue, who will perform the Legends slot on Sunday afternoon.
