From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. With all the frenzied anticipation surrounding new Frank Ocean material, nobody could have known that he would release a 45-minute visual album showing the artist building a spiral staircase.
Well, someone did - namely a person who claims he was assigned with teaching Ocean how to build said staircase. It turns out he told an unsuspecting individual in a bar all the way back in March.
A series of tweets describing this encounter saw a resurgence following the release of Endless. You can read them for yourself below.
Speaking to Complex about the tweets, user Mishi elaborated: "He said he was teaching Frank how to build [the staircase]. I didn't know it was going to be for a live stream and I don't think the guy telling us knew either. He said it was for a music video. I'm not going to believe that."
Fans are still waiting for Boys Don't Cry, Ocean's long-awaited follow-up to the Grammy award-winning 2012 record Channel Orange. As well as the 18 tracks on Endless, the musician today (20 August) released new song "Nikes," the video of which you can watch here.
