Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. For all the 'hurry up and release the album' flak that Frank Ocean gets from fans, he seems to quite enjoy stoking it.
Last month he teased that "if you liked two thousand and seventeen then you'll love two thousand and eighteen," and now he's added on Tumblr (sic): "Well made the album before 30. JUST AINT PUT THAT BITCH OUT!" quotes from an interview haven't given haha".
He's presumably referencing a tweet he wrote in 2012: "5 albums before 30."
His potential next LP would only be his fifth album if you count the Nostalgia, Ultra mixtape as an album, however.
As for "quotes from an interview I haven’t given," he's probably alluding to the fact he so rarely gives interviews or that he would be hesitant to make this promise if he did.
Frank cranked out standalone singles in quick succession over the past year - 'Chanel', 'Biking', Provider' and 'Lens' - so it's conceivable he does also have a new album's worth of content ready.
We'll update you as and when more cryptic words are put out into the ether.
