The track, which had not been announced prior to its sudden unveiling today, marks the second surprise drop of new Ocean material in recent weeks.
In mid-October, Ocean premiered “DHL” on his Beats 1 radio show Blonded.
“In My Room”, which was released on Apple Music this morning, is a slinky R&B number with lyrics that nod to rough sex, luxury fashion and the effect fame has on relationships.
“You won’t flex when camera’s flashing,” Ocean sings. “Not fake laid-back, no it’s natural / And I don’t think you made for the life I live.”
Two further new tracks, “Dear April” and “Cayendo”, were last month teased via Ocean’s digital store. Vinyl pre-orders for both songs have since sold out.
The release of two new tracks and confirmation of two more on their way hints that a full album may be imminent.
Ocean’s last record, the critically acclaimed Blonde, was released in 2016 following months of anticipation and teasers.
