Your support makes all the difference.Florence and the Machine -- the British indie rock band fronted by singer Florence Welch -- announced January 28 that it has added a handful of North American shows to its spring tour schedule. The new leg, which includes an April 6 concert in New York City and an April 14 show in Vancouver, ends with the band's performance at California's Coachella festival.

The new leg, which includes an April 6 concert in New York City and an April 14 show in Vancouver, ends with the band's performance at California's Coachella festival.
The new tour dates fall in the middle of a jam-packed run: The band plays concerts in Australia and New Zealand beginning January 30, followed by dates in Singapore and Tokyo, then shows around Europe from February 20 to March 16. After the North American shows, the group visits Dublin and tours the UK in May, then plays shows in Luxembourg and Germany in June.

Florence and the Machine released its debut CD, Lungs, in 2009. The album peaked at number one on UK charts and also held top spots on charts in the US and around Europe. The group won the 2009 BRIT Critics' Choice Award and is currently in the running for three 2010 BRIT Awards.
