'Exhausted' Eminem cancels sell-out gigs

The US rapper Eminem today cancelled four concerts in Britain and Ireland due to exhaustion.

A statement on the singer's website said all Eminem's European tour dates from September 1 to 17 would be cancelled and were unlikely to be rescheduled.

"Eminem is currently being treated for exhaustion, complicated by other medical issues," it said.

"The shows are not expected to be rescheduled."

Cancelled UK and Ireland concerts include the Milton Keynes Bowl on September 9, Murrayfield, Edinburgh, on September 12, Lancashire Cricket Ground, Manchester, on September 14 and Slane Castle, Co Meath, on September 17.

Dates in France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands have also been cut.

The concerts were part of Eminem's successful Anger Management 3 tour.

The 80,000 tickets for the rapper's headline gig at Slane Castle sold out in less than two hours on June 10.

Also due to play at the prestigious venue, run by Lord Henry Mountcharles, this year were hiphop acts 50 Cent, D-12, Obie Trice, Stat Quo, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, Olivia and Flypsyde.
