The singer-songwriter was reportedly knocked off his bike and is waiting on medical advice.
He told fans that his injury "might affect some of my upcoming shows" and asked fans to stay tuned for further news.
Sheeran is currently touring in Asia and is set to play the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Hall on 22 October, followed by dates in Osaka, Japan and Seoul, South Korea.
The tour is in support of his record-breaking third album Divide, which was released earlier this year.
