The hip-hop star was taken to Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles where he remains in a “stable and lucid” condition, according to TMZ.com.
Doctors are still running tests to find out what caused the bleeding on the 55-year-old’s brain and he reportedly remained in the hospital’s ICU on Tuesday night.
“Prayers up for Dr. Dre and his family for healing & Strength over his mind & body,” wrote Missy Elliott on Twitter.
Dre, whose real name is Andre Young, is in the middle of a divorce from wife, Nicole Young, who filed to end their marriage of more than 20 years.
Ms Young cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
“Send your love and prayers to the homie Dr Dre,” said the rapper’s NWA colleague Ice Cube.
Dr Dre and Ms Young have two adult children together, 23-year-old son Truice and 19-year-old daughter Truly.
