From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.David Guetta has released a brand new track called "Flames" with Sia, which you can hear first via The Independent.
This is the fourth time the pair have worked together on a song: their previous hits include "Titanium" (2011), "She Wolf" (2012) and "Bang My Head"; which have racked up more than a billion streams.
The track is classic Sia, starring her incredible voice and a big, emotive chorus; it's an uplifting, low-key banger that shows off the maturity Sia has brought to previous Guetta tracks, along with his talent for an infectious beat.

Guetta told The Independent: "I'm a huge Sia fan and we have a good history together. Something crazy happened when we started working together - our first collaboration "Titanium" turned everything upside-down for both of us. She was a super cool indie artist who wasn't really into pop and then when we came up with "Titanium", I just loved the track so much that I said 'I don't want to give this to anybody else, no one else will sing it like you'. She said 'OK but it's going to be my last record and I'm not doing tours, promo or anything...'
"And then it turned out that this was the record that was going to change both our lives. Now she is a superstar and I couldn't be more happy for her. She deserves every success that she gets and I'm so excited to be collaborating with her again on "Flames". She's very loyal since she's always up for working together, even though she's super big now, which I really appreciate. I'm really proud of "Flames" and I can't wait for everyone to hear it!"
Guetta spoke to The Independent in an interview last year about Ibiza, his recent work, and why he doesn't pay too much attention to critics.
“At the beginning of house music, it was all about being credible,” he said. “When I started to make music and cross over I started to receive some criticism. So I said, ‘look, I’m not trying to be credible, I’m trying to be in-credible'. I think anybody that is going to do something a bit out of the box is always going to be criticised, but at the end of the day that’s the only thing that matters.
“You can be a good little boy who follows the rules, but you’re never going to do anything interesting with your life. I make the music that I believe in, the music that I love, that I wanna share with people. And I’m not forcing anyone to listen to it.”
