Victoria Beckham's own career as a pop star recently became a topic for discussion again, after a video emerged showing the Spice Girls scolding a male producer for suggesting they should show cleavage in an advert where they were dressed as schoolgirls.
The edited video was a behind-the-scenes clip of the girl band when they were at the height of their fame in 1997, in the process of shooting an advert for Polaroid.
Mel B and Geri Halliwell were seen taking a stand against the man, whom Halliwell branded a "chauvanist pig" after he implied that it was "every man's fantasy" to see them showing skin while dressed in schoolgirl outfits.
Beckham arrived and took away his sunglasses, mocking him for wearing them.
The video ended with Mel C uttering their famous phrase "Girl Power!", which transformed them into feminist idols for millions of young girls around the world.
