Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has become the first British female solo artist to achieve five number one singles.
The singer’s latest song “I Don't Care” has topped the Official Singles Chart, ousting Ed Sheeran's “Thinking Out Loud”.
The 31-year-old, who also had four number ones as part of Girls Aloud, has outdone British female soloists Geri Halliwell and Rita Ora, who have both had four number one singles.
The singer’s previous number ones include “Crazy Stupid Love” (2014), “Call My Name” (2012), “Promise This” (2010) and “Fight For This Love” (2009).
But the X Factor judge still has a long way to go to beat Madonna, Rihanna and Kylie, who have had 13, eight and seven UK number ones respectively.
“I Don't Care” is the second single to be released from Cheryl's fourth album, Only Human.
Sheeran, whose track “Thinking Out Loud” made it to number one after spending 19 weeks in the top 40, falls to number two while Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” drops to number three.
Completing the top five, American John Legend's “All Of Me” rocketed from 26 to number four after his appearance on X Factor, while Taylor Swift's “Shake It Off” drops from three to five.
