The “Break the Rules” singer – real name Charlotte Emma Aitchison – was not home at the time of the alleged break-in which took place on 25 August.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, the man broke into the musician’s home, stripped off his clothes and got into the hot-tub on her property.
He was then confronted by the musician’s roommate and arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department.
The legal documents state that the man had previously attempted to enter the singer’s property the day before on 24 August, as well as having sent Charli hundreds of messages on social media.
In a declaration outlining the events, her roommate recalled that the man “lied about who he was, claiming falsely to be a friend of Charli’s and that they lived together in Wisconsin”.
She continued: “He’d arrived on foot, sweating, and acting very strangely.”
The temporary order requires the man to stay at least 100 yards (91m) away from the singer, her car, place of work and home.
