Chance the Rapper postpones The Big Day tour after birth of second daughter
Rapper said he was absent in the early weeks after his first daughter's birth and expressed regret at not being there to support his wife

The artist’s wife Kirsten Corley gave birth to the couple’s second daughter this week. Chance explained that when his first daughter, Kensli, was born, he missed “important milestones” in her life and was away on tour “when her mother needed me the most”.
“This year has been one of the greatest of my life: Marriage, new baby, first album etc,” he wrote in a statement on Instagram. “But with it being so eventful it has also been very strenuous having to divide my time and energy between family and work.
“When Kensli was born, I went on tour two weeks later and missed some of the most important milestones in her life, but more importantly I was absent when her mother needed me the most.”
“At this point as a husband and father of two I realise that I can’t make that mistake again,” he continued.
“I need to be as helpful and available as possible to my wife in these early months of raising Kensli and Marli.”
Tour promoter Live Nation said in a statement: “We congratulate Chance on the birth of his daughter and support him while he takes time to be with his family. We are thrilled to welcome him back on the road in 2020.”
Most of Chance’s tour will now take place in 2020, with one show in Chicago this month (28 September) and two festival sets in Las Vegas and Miami.”
