From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Cardi B has revealed that she's making $70,000 a day for playing Coachella this year.

This sounds like a lot of money, but the "Bodak Yellow" rapper told Sirius XM's Hip Hop Nation that it isn't actually that much when you consider how much money she has to spend on it.

Cardi told the hosts, "I have to invest so much money on my stage set - my own money that I gotta go to Wells Fargo and write a check. Almost $300,000."

But she explains that "it's crazy" but "it's an investment."

She also revealed that she has been booked to play Coachella for the past six or seven months.

At the time, she didn't realise how big a of a deal playing the festival was or how many people would be there.

Because she's performing new songs, she explained she'd be rehearsing for 10-hour days.

The rapper dropped her debut album Invasion of Privacy on April 6 after months of anticipation.

To commemorate the occasion, she played on Saturday Night Live last weekend for the first time and also announced her pregnancy.

Cardi B will perform at Coachella on Sunday April 15.
