Your support makes all the difference.Canadian politician Norm Kelly has responded to Drake and Meek Mill ending their highly publicised feud by lifting a ban on Meek’s entry into Toronto.
The Toronto City councillor, whose Twitter updates on City Hall are regularly interspersed with pop culture commentary, took a satirical approach to news that the pair had buried the hatchet three years after their rap feud made headlines.
Addressing the Philadelphia- native directly, the 77-year-old politician, wrote: "You are welcome back in Toronto, @MeekMill."
Moments earlier Mr Kelly shared a snap of the rappers hugging to out on stage, telling his 749K followers: "Hate is heavy. Let it go."
The pair were famously embroiled in a feud in 2015 when Meek Mill accused the Canadian rapper of using a ghostwriter on their collaboration RICO.
Things soon escalated when Drake, born Aubrey Graham, hit back with a scathing diss track entitled Back to Back. The OVO referenced Meek opening for then girlfriend Nicki Minaj on The Pinkprint tour using the line: "Is that a world tour or your girl’s tour?”
As the pair ripped each other apart on social media and other industry heavyweights chimed in, Mr Kelly pledged his allegiance to Drake, warning Meek to star out of Toronto. “You're no longer welcome in Toronto, @MeekMill." he tweeted at the time.
But it was all love on Saturday night when Drake brought Meek Mill out during his Aubrey and the Three Migos Tour stop in Boston.
Meek performed his 2012 hit Dreams and Nightmares and Drake called the rapper "his brother" as they officially squashed their beef in front of thousands of fans at the TD Garden arena.
Drake later took to Instagram to reveal that the onstage reunion had given him “peace of mind”
He told his 47million fans: “Healing and moving forward created one of the most electric and gratifying moments of my career."
"@meekmill I’m happy that you are home and that we could find our way back to our joint purpose 🙏🏽🙌🏽 (Cue the Kevin Garnett “anything is possible” adlib)."
