Country singer Cady Groves, best known for her hit single “This Little Girl”, has died at the age of 30.
Groves’ brother Cody confirmed the news on Twitter, later clarifying that she died of natural causes following what he called “twisted misinformation” about her death.
“@cadygroves has left this world,” Cody wrote. “Details are limited right now but family is trying to get them and will keep people updated. Rest In Peace little sis. Hope you’re reunited with @kellydgroves and Casey.”
Kelly and Casey Groves were Cady’s brothers, who died in 2014 and 2007, respectively. Both were 28 at the time of their deaths.
In a separate, longer post, Cody clarified the circumstances of his sister’s death.
“I hate that I even have to do this, but apparently the world and internet is a cluster of twisted misinformation,” he wrote. “In my original post I had stated we had no information to try and prevent that, but to expel [sic] rumours I will provide an update.”
He continued: “The medical examiner has completed [an] autopsy and there was no indication of foul play or self harm. Simply put, Cady Groves died of natural causes.
“She had some medical problems last fall and our best guess at this point until further testing is complete is that they had resurfaced. Please respect her name and family before sharing information that did not come directly from here.”
Groves’ most recent single was 2017’s “Oil and Water”, and she released four EPs in her lifetime: A Month of Sundays (2009), The Life of a Pirate (2010), This Little Girl (2012) and Dreams (2015).
Signed by RCA Records in 2010, she toured with bands including Third Eye Blind and Good Charlotte, before departing RCA for an independent label in 2015.

At the time of her death, she was preparing a new EP, which was intended for release this summer, and a potential tour. In a statement, her label said they hoped to have the EP released soon.
