Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The War Child Brits Week is back this year with a new lineup, which will include The 1975, Anne-Marie, Bring Me The Horizon, and AJ Tracey.

Fifteen “intimate” shows are scheduled for this fifth edition of the Brits Week, in venues across London.

Jake Bugg with Jade Bird, Tom Odell, Mabel, IDLES, You Me At Six, Nick Mulvey, Enter Shikari, DJ Semtex and Frank Turner are all scheduled to play during the 11-day event.

This year, there are two ways to get tickets. One option is to enter a lottery online – the prize draw is open now – and make a £5 donation to War Child, a charity that supports children affected by conflict.

Another option is to purchase tickets when a limited number go on sale on Friday, 18 January at 9am.

Those who choose to enter the prize draw can do so as many times as they like to increase their chances of winning.

The lottery will close on Monday, 4 February.

Last year, the Brits Week raised an estimated £650,000 for War Child UK, according to the event’s team.

“It’s amazing to see the music industry coming together once again to support children affected by conflict across the world,” said Jim Benner, global music lead at War Child UK.

“We’re looking forward to creating more wonderful moments and as ever we’re overwhelmed by the incredible support of some of the best artists making music right now.”
