Paris Hilton sends support to Britney Spears after father agrees to step down as conservator: ‘Sending so much love’
‘It’s been so long overdue but I’m so glad that Britney is on her way to finally being free,’ wrote Hilton
Paris Hilton has celebrated the latest development in Britney Spears’s ongoing conservatorship battle.
It was reported yesterday (12 August) that Spears’s father, Jamie Spears, has agreed to step down as her conservator, according to new court filings.
Jamie said he “intends to work with the Court and his daughter’s new attorney to prepare for an orderly transition to a new conservator”, per documents seen by TMZ.
Hilton, the socialite and media personality who is a long-term friend of Spears, shared her reaction to the news on social media.
Writing on Twitter, Hilton said: “I’m so happy to hear this news.
“It’s been so long overdue but I’m so glad that Britney is on her way to finally being free. Sending so much love!”
Last month, Hilton gave her public support to Spears in the wake of a report by the New Yorker regarding the singer’s conservatorship.
She wrote that she found the article “heartbreaking to read”, sharing a link to it on Twitter.
“Britney is so strong & has been through so much,” she continued. “I’m so proud of her for using her voice & speaking her truth. She deserves her freedom & happiness.”
Hilton recently starred in her own Netflix cookery show Cooking With Paris.
