From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The list of acts performing at this month's Brit Awards is already impressive but it's just got a whole lot bigger - Rihanna will take to the stage.
The Barbadian singer will join the likes of Adele, Coldplay and Justin Bieber as performer at the awards ceremony due to take place at London's 02 Arena.
The news comes a week after she dropped new track "Work" and album - named Anti - through Jay-Z's music streaming service TIDAL. The single saw her reteam with Drake whom she collaborated with on the 2010 hit "What's My Name?'
Following the release of Anti, Rihanna clocked up almost 1.5 million downloads in 15 hours - however, at the time of reporting, the hard copy has so far only sold a mere 460 copies so far.
Fellow performers Coldplay have a busy month of live performances ahead of them; as well as the Brits, the British band will play the halftime show at this Sunday's Super Bowl (7 February).
In addition, frontman Chris Martin is the latest star to participate in James Corden's popular Late Late Show segment 'Carpool Karaoke.'
The Brit Awards will be broadcast live on ITV on 24 February. You can see the full list of nominations here.
